Lola Bunny Character Exploration

During my time with the Creative Product Development and Brand Assurance team at Warner Bros Discovery, I was tasked with reimagining the Lola Bunny character. Her previous character launch did not achieve the desired success, primarily due to a lack of a well-defined storyline and limited appeal to an older market. My objective was to reinvent Lola Bunny to resonate with an older teen audience while ensuring her spunky, fashionista personality was prominent. I conducted trend research to identify popular styles and preferences within this demographic. I used this knowledge to create new designs that aligned with Lola Bunny’s brand identity. The result is a collection of trendy, fashionable tees and accessories that capture the essence of the character and appeal to the new target market.

Process

When tasked with restructuring Lola’s character to appeal to an older market, my initial strategy was to tone down the pink and adopt a more minimalistic presence, aiming to create a more mature brand image. I explored this during round one of ideation. However, after further researching Lola’s backstory, I realized that pink was too integral to her signature look to discard. Instead, I decided to embrace the pink while focusing on maturing the products and iconography associated with Lola. I achieved this by incorporating sophisticated materials like silk, introducing trendy pieces such as baby tees and crew socks, and embossing elegant assets. Through these updates, Lola’s brand evolved to resonate with a mature audience, maintaining her iconic style while leaning into current trends.
